Morphology
A very slender palm, can reach 12 m. The trunk has wavy leaf scars. No crownshaft present. Pinnate leaves, dark green and rough. Fruit has an olive-like shape, and takes 2 years to ripe.
Climate
Temperate and warm climates.
Germination
Germination takes a long time, around one year.
Growing
Needs a shady position when young, but can take full sun as an adult.
