Habitat
Rainforests.
Morphology
A trunk with annular rings. Pinnate leaves up to 3 m long. Leaf sheaths form a crownshaft. Fruits blackish-brown or purple.
Climate
Tropical.
Germination
Seeds take 5-6 months or even more to germinate.
Growing
Frost sensitive. Protect young plants from sun.
