Named ‘plumosa’ because the pinnate leaves have numerous narrow leaflets arranged in different planes.

Mexico.
Habitat
Rainforest.
Morphology
A single trunk, up to 5 m tall and 6-7 cm in diameter. Leaves have up to 85 leaflets on each side of rachis, acute, dull green to greyish-green, up to 50 cm long and only 1.5 cm broad. Black fruits.
Climate
This palm has tolerated temperatures down to –3.5ºC (25.7ºF, USDA Zone 9b).

Growing
A strong plant that tolerates full sun in summer. Cold resistant, can cope with winter temperatures down to –10ºC. A rustic and fast growing palm.
