Habitat
Cold forest, often in oak forest at around 1000 m above sea level. A species of special concern in habitat.
Morphology.
A single trunk up to 3-4 m tall and 3 cm in diameter. Four to 8 pinnate leaves per plant, with 10-18 leaflets, lanceolate, erect and dark green. Inflorescences appear at early age, and petals are persistent on the oval fruit.
Climate
Highly resistant to cold, can be grown in temperate and subtropical climate. This palm has tolerated temperatures down to –6.6ºC (20.2ºF, USDA Zone 9a).

Grows well in groups, can be grown in partial sun or full sun.
