Trachycarpus princeps

Recently described. Only two seeds were found, and from then is more and more easy to find them.
Origin
Like T. nanus, this palm comes from Yunnan, China, from a place called Stone Gate.
Habitat
Steep cliffs.
Morphology
This is a Trachycarpus without fibres in the trunk. Very similar to T. martianus, but apart from the lack of fibres, can be differentiated for the waxy underside of young leaves. Sharp, bilobed segments.
Climate
Cold resistant in temperate climate. Similar to T. fortunei.
Germination
Germination is good, doesn’t need warm, only some moist and dark.
Growing
Rarely seen in cultivation, very expensive seed. Cultivation is now increasing because of its beauty and its high resistance.
