Morphology

A smooth and straight trunk. The big, pinnate, slightly plumose leaves form a dense and flexible crown. No crownshaft present. The inflorescences grow among the leaves.

Climate

This palm has tolerated temperatures down to –2.2ºC (28ºF, USDA Zone 9b).
