East of Queensland (Australia).
Habitat
Morphology
Young plants have a smooth, green trunk that later turns grey and rough. Sparse, erect, pinnate leaves. Very ornamental, globular to ellipsoid, red fruits.
Climate
This palm has tolerated temperatures down to –1.1ºC (30ºF, USDA Zone 10a).
Germination
Seeds take around 5-6 months to germinate.
Growing
Young plants need partial shade. Prefers a moist, rich, but well-drained soil. Can grow in sandy and limestone soils.
